Equine Insights

Discovering Yourself through the Wisdom of the Horse

At Transitions Acres, we believe in the power of inclusive, ground-based connection. Equine Insights is a one-on-one session rooted in Equine-Assisted Learning (EAL)—a proven approach to personal growth where horses act as gentle mirrors to our emotions and behaviors.

Because horses live fully in the present and respond honestly to our energy, they are incredible teachers for developing self-awareness, confidence, and emotional balance.

Why Ground-Based?

Unlike traditional riding lessons, this experience is entirely unmounted. By stepping away from the saddle, we shift the focus from “controlling” the horse to listening, observing, and connecting.

When you work with a horse from the ground, you begin to notice how your thoughts, body language, and energy influence the world around you. These are powerful insights that you can carry back into your relationships, your work, and your personal life.

What to Expect in Your Session

Your journey at the farm is tailored to your unique pace and comfort level:

The Introduction: We begin with an introduction to our herd and a brief safety demonstration to ensure you feel confident in the space.

The Connection: You’ll choose the horse you feel most drawn to. Through grooming and quiet interaction, you’ll begin building a relationship based on mutual trust.

The Activities: Together with your equine partner, you’ll work through carefully designed ground-based activities. These exercises encourage problem-solving, healthy boundary setting, and deep self-reflection.

A Partner in Growth

In this space, the horse is your guide, your mirror, and your partner. There is no pressure to perform—just the opportunity for honest connection and personal discovery.

1:1 Support for Summer Camp

Professional Care for an Inclusive Camp Experience

At Transitions Acres, we believe that every child deserves the magic of a summer spent at the farm. To ensure our programs are accessible to everyone, we offer 1:1 Individual Support facilitated by a Registered Developmental Services Worker (DSW) as part of our commitment to inclusive programming, ensuring that campers of all abilities can fully participate, connect, and grow.

Our inclusive camp model is designed to bridge the gap for children who require extra assistance to navigate the camp day safely and successfully.

Personalized Care & Connection

Whether your child has sensory processing needs, developmental disabilities, or requires extra emotional or physical guidance, our 1:1 support provides:

Dedicated Guidance: A dedicated staff member or volunteer to stay with your child throughout the day, helping them navigate activities at their own pace.

Adaptive Participation: We modify our horse interactions, crafts, and games in real-time to meet your child’s unique needs and abilities.

Sensory & Regulation Support: Our support staff are trained to recognize when a camper needs a quiet break, a change of environment, or extra encouragement.

Safety & Confidence: Having a consistent “buddy” allows campers to build a trusting relationship, fostering the confidence they need to interact with our horses and their peers.

How it Works

We work closely with parents and caregivers before the first day of camp to understand your child’s strengths, triggers, and goals. By integrating 1:1 support into our regular camp weeks, we create a truly inclusive environment where every child is a valued member of the herd.

Inclusion for All

Space for 1:1 support is limited each week to ensure we provide the highest quality of care. We recommend reaching out early to discuss your child’s needs and secure a spot in our summer lineup.

Let’s make this summer unforgettable. ✨ Contact Us to Discuss 1:1 Support Options.
