Alisha Wilson
Operations Manager ~ Founder ~ Certified Equine Facilitator ~ Reiki Master Teacher ~ Equine Wellbeing Coach & Trainer
Growing up with horses, Alisha Wilson has experienced firsthand the profound and life-changing connection these incredible animals offer. She credits horses not only with shaping who she is today but with quite literally saving her life. Through her personal journey with self-image, confidence, and recovery from addiction, horses were her safe space — their non-judgmental, deeply empathetic nature offering comfort and understanding when she needed it most.
From her family’s home farm to working at a ranch as a teen in Florida, and now caring for her own rescue horses, Alisha can name every horse that has crossed her path — and the invaluable life lesson each one taught her.
In 2020, after years in corporate leadership, Alisha embraced a rare opportunity to turn her lifelong passion into purpose. She began her Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) journey with Dreamwinds/Cartier Farms, and in 2021, Transitions was born — a place where the horse-human connection fosters self-discovery, personal growth, and those transformative “ah-ha” moments that help unlock potential and remove self-imposed barriers.
Wanting to ensure that everyone could access the healing power of horses, regardless of financial means, Alisha later founded Transitions as a non-profit organization. This shift allowed her to expand programming through community partnerships, fundraising, and grant opportunities — making equine-assisted wellness more accessible to those who need it most.
Since opening, Alisha’s leadership and innovative approach to equine-assisted wellness have earned her multiple awards and nominations, including being named Young Entrepreneur of the Year (2025) by Community Futures and receiving a Tourism Oxford Award recognizing Transitions for its meaningful impact on wellness-based tourism and community connection. Her signature offering, the Cowgirl Kickback Experience, has also been recognized as an official Ontario Southwest Signature Experience, celebrating its unique blend of laughter, empowerment, and authentic country connection.
Today, Alisha combines her lived experience with professional expertise to guide clients through holistic, equine-facilitated programs that support meaningful growth and connection. She also holds certifications in ASIST and SafeTalk, is a Reiki Master Teacher, and an active member of the Canadian Reiki Association.
Happily married and the proud mother of two wonderful children, Alisha’s family plays an active role in the daily life of Transitions — making it a true family passion project.
“With this program, my love for horses is beautifully intertwined with my passion for helping others. And my once-broken rescue horses have found a renewed purpose — which means, here, everybody wins.”
I attended the Ponies and Pottery event tonight and all I can say is WOW! What a fantastic experience. Alisha and Holly Jo were extremely welcoming and created a supportive environment for someone who had little to no experience with horses or pottery! I had a wonderful time creating three pieces of pottery and getting to know the horses. Thank you so much for an amazing experience! I can’t wait to see how my pieces of pottery turn out after they are glazed!
Alisha Wilson is passionate about her horses and helping people, and it shows. Her facilities are just perfect for all the services she offers. I attended a recent event and was really impressed.
There is so much more going on here than meets the eye. My daughter (age 9) just completed the Youth Leadership Workshop and each day on the car ride home she was beaming about the life lessons she had learned that day. Communication, displaying patience, having a positive attitude, friendship, teamwork all while having fun was how she described her day – each one a little different. As a parent – who could ask for more. If i could rate this higher than 5 stars I would. Great job!!!
What a great experience! Fun challenges & great atmosphere. Working with the horses was interesting. The facilitator, Alisha, was fun & kind. This is a unique experience you won’t get anywhere else. I look forward to doing it again!
Alisha’s program and events are incredibly eye opening and you really learn a lot about yourself and what you’re capable of achieving! I love working with the horses and the exercises involved. It’s interactive, fun, exploratory and makes you feel great afterward! The facilities are beautiful and Alisha is a great Teacher !
My son loves it here!! Loves the interaction with all the animals and reconnecting with the land and outdoors! Alicia is amazing and very supportive to all the kiddos
Great staff, caring herd. Truly a place to grow and discover
I really enjoyed learning and making my mini indigenous drum with Becca Neepin at Transitions. She had everything ready for us and walked us through step by step. I enjoyed the smudging ceremony at the Indigenous garden at the start. Would HIGHLY recommend! Can’t wait to learn and try more workshops with Becca.
It is such a welcoming place to be. Working with the horses help to relax you. I tried the EAL. I enjoyed working from the ground level with the horses. Next I am going to try the Reiki and sound healing. Alisha and her daughter Lindsey are very pleasant to work with. They make you feel welcome and at ease. And I love how they open their farm up to host personal learning events. Great job guys!
