Alisha Wilson

Operations Manager ~ Founder ~ Certified Equine Facilitator ~ Reiki Master Teacher ~ Equine Wellbeing Coach & Trainer

Growing up with horses, Alisha Wilson has experienced firsthand the profound and life-changing connection these incredible animals offer. She credits horses not only with shaping who she is today but with quite literally saving her life. Through her personal journey with self-image, confidence, and recovery from addiction, horses were her safe space — their non-judgmental, deeply empathetic nature offering comfort and understanding when she needed it most.

From her family’s home farm to working at a ranch as a teen in Florida, and now caring for her own rescue horses, Alisha can name every horse that has crossed her path — and the invaluable life lesson each one taught her.

In 2020, after years in corporate leadership, Alisha embraced a rare opportunity to turn her lifelong passion into purpose. She began her Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) journey with Dreamwinds/Cartier Farms, and in 2021, Transitions was born — a place where the horse-human connection fosters self-discovery, personal growth, and those transformative “ah-ha” moments that help unlock potential and remove self-imposed barriers.

Wanting to ensure that everyone could access the healing power of horses, regardless of financial means, Alisha later founded Transitions as a non-profit organization. This shift allowed her to expand programming through community partnerships, fundraising, and grant opportunities — making equine-assisted wellness more accessible to those who need it most.

Since opening, Alisha’s leadership and innovative approach to equine-assisted wellness have earned her multiple awards and nominations, including being named Young Entrepreneur of the Year (2025) by Community Futures and receiving a Tourism Oxford Award recognizing Transitions for its meaningful impact on wellness-based tourism and community connection. Her signature offering, the Cowgirl Kickback Experience, has also been recognized as an official Ontario Southwest Signature Experience, celebrating its unique blend of laughter, empowerment, and authentic country connection.

Today, Alisha combines her lived experience with professional expertise to guide clients through holistic, equine-facilitated programs that support meaningful growth and connection. She also holds certifications in ASIST and SafeTalk, is a Reiki Master Teacher, and an active member of the Canadian Reiki Association.

Happily married and the proud mother of two wonderful children, Alisha’s family plays an active role in the daily life of Transitions — making it a true family passion project.

“With this program, my love for horses is beautifully intertwined with my passion for helping others. And my once-broken rescue horses have found a renewed purpose — which means, here, everybody wins.”

A funny and great experience myself modelling with a beautiful horse, Muffin .
This reminds of my Russian father , a big fan of horses and he had a farm.
Great atmosphere , a peaceful view of sunset .
Sunsets are proof that every day has something to celebrate. Sunset is my favourite color , and rainbow is second.
There’s nothing like a beautiful sunset to end a healthy day .
The owner, Alisha was very friendly and a pleasant lady .
I’m looking forward to doing it again.
Thank you so much for our awesome evening with you,Alisha , Muffin and a very talented photographer.

Mana Balos, Equestrian Elegance Event

I attended the Ponies and Pottery event tonight and all I can say is WOW! What a fantastic experience. Alisha and Holly Jo were extremely welcoming and created a supportive environment for someone who had little to no experience with horses or pottery! I had a wonderful time creating three pieces of pottery and getting to know the horses. Thank you so much for an amazing experience! I can’t wait to see how my pieces of pottery turn out after they are glazed!

Shelby Hehn, Ponies and Pottery Event

I attended Alisha’s “Womens wellness retreat” co-facilitated with Bonnie Taylor and was so impressed that I wanted to write a review.

I was kindly greeted by Alisha upon arriving. When I walked into the place where we were having our workshop, I saw smiles all around the room, a bountiful breakfast ready for us Ladies to start our special day off right, a beautiful Tuck Shop(Gift shop) full of gems, and stunning Horse Art all over the walls. I knew immediately this was meant to be!! On the tables, we all had our own personal Journal purchased for us to write in throughout the day, and to take home and continue with. I loved that!
After introducing ourselves to each other, we were off to go see the main focus we all came to spend space with…The Herd! What a beautiful Herd Alisha has gathered together! To keep this review from becoming a novel, here are my favorite parts of the retreat!!!
♡The Ladies(making new connections and feeling supported)
♡The Horses(Very loving)
♡The EAL activities planned for us with the horses(empowering, self confidence building)
♡The Food Catered in(OMG amazing, we were very spoiled)
♡The Reiki healing provided by Alisha with Smudging ceremony
♡Bonnie Taylor’s Presentation on Wellness
♡Creative Expression Horseshoe craft to take home(love souvenirs)
♡Sitting in the grass on lunch break with the horses near by meditating.(grounding, calming)

Those are my highlights of the day. It was an incredible experience that I grew from. I am already returning for the Equine Portrait session next month, and will be coming out for many other events hosted. The energy that lives there is pure light, safe, grounding and loving. 10/10 experience. I highly recommend this place :)

Dana A, Women's Wellness Retreat

Alisha Wilson is passionate about her horses and helping people, and it shows. Her facilities are just perfect for all the services she offers. I attended a recent event and was really impressed.

Carol Coristine

What an amazing experience. I really appericated the patience and understanding that was shown towards .t client with special needs. Definitely will be going ba k with of members of our community.

Michelle Little, LTC Facility

There is so much more going on here than meets the eye. My daughter (age 9) just completed the Youth Leadership Workshop and each day on the car ride home she was beaming about the life lessons she had learned that day. Communication, displaying patience, having a positive attitude, friendship, teamwork all while having fun was how she described her day – each one a little different. As a parent – who could ask for more. If i could rate this higher than 5 stars I would. Great job!!!

Trevor Austin, Summer Camp

I recently had a networking experience with Transitions Equine Assisted Learning.

First of all, ai am in love with her business stationery. it’s gorgeous.

Secondly, I am terrified of horses. The owner guided me through my terror and helped me actually enjoy the experience of working as a team with a horse.

This experience by far exceeded my expectations and I am so glad I was able to participate. It was simply amazing.

The whole experience was therapeutic. I would strongly recommend!

K L M, Corporate Team Building

Daisy Duke, Date Night

Alisha’s program and events are incredibly eye opening and you really learn a lot about yourself and what you’re capable of achieving! I love working with the horses and the exercises involved. It’s interactive, fun, exploratory and makes you feel great afterward! The facilities are beautiful and Alisha is a great Teacher !
